‘Bomb’ goes off at Dutch Covid test centre as anger grows over lockdown

A coronavirus test centre in the Netherlands was hit by a suspected deliberate explosion as frustration grows over lockdown measures in the country. The building in the town of Bovenkarspel, which has recently seen a surge in Covid-19 cases, had its windows shattered after ‘something metal’ blew up outside just before 7am this morning. Officers say they believe the attack was targeted at the test centre. Police spokesperson Menno Hartenberg said: ‘What we’re saying is that something like that doesn’t just happen by accident, it has to be laid.
